Who are we

We have been a player in French eyewear since 1965. We monitor all stages of design and manufacture of optical frames and sunglasses in its factory in Morbier, in the Jura (France).

In 2023, the prominent Jura eyewear manufacturer, Cemo-Decovision, was taken over by three independent brands: J.F. Rey, John Dalia, and theo. They came together to establish a company and rescue the business, relaunching it under the brand Atelier Cemo. The new owners, driven by a shared vision and deep unity, successfully completed the acquisition within three weeks, saving jobs and preserving an essential part of the Jura and Made in France ecosystem.

Atelier Cemo, rooted in the French Jura, has been a leading frame manufacturer since 1965. Renowned for its expertise, the company oversees the entire design and production process at its Morbier factory in the Jura. Since 2014, Atelier Cemo has evolved into the French eyewear reference for smart glasses, incorporating electronic components into its avant-garde designs.

Recognizing the substantial experience and dedication to quality of the acquired company, Atelier Cemo aims for a sustainable partnership and a long-term vision. Joel Mercier has taken on the role of General Manager, symbolizing the commitment to the future. The strategy of the new owners includes strengthening relationships with historical clients, fostering industry synergy, and contributing to the global prominence of Made in France in the eyewear market.

Atelier Cemo continues to shape the future of eyewear and beyond, driven by a commitment to innovation, quality, and the preservation of a rich legacy.
